Barcelona Restaurant Guide
Dining out in BarcelonaThere is a great variety of Barcelona restaurants to choose from when dining out in the city, but keep in mind that evening meals are usually eaten later. Lunch is served from around 2pm until 4pm, and most restaurants are obliged by law to offer a 'menu del dia'. This consists of 2 courses, wine, plus a dessert or coffee, and are usually very reasonably priced, between 7 and 10 Euro per person. Dinner is served from 9pm onwards, although some restaurants will open a little earlier in the evening. Should you arrive before 10pm you'll find yourself dining alone or in the presence of tourists. Every area of the city flourishes with restaurants of every type, from the seafood specialities of Barceloneta and Port Vell, through the rich ethnic variety to be found in areas like Gracia, Poble Nou, the Raval and Barri Gothic. Be aware that many close for long holidays, especially in August and early September, as well as for Easter and the first week of January. It is always worth calling in advance to avoid disappointment.
